Description
Dual-Band Performance
Supporting IEEE 802.11ac, 802.11a, 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b, the adapter connects to both modern and older routers. The 5 GHz band reaches 433 Mbps under 802.11ac, 150 Mbps under 802.11n and 54 Mbps under 802.11a, while the 2.4 GHz band reaches 200 Mbps under 802.11n thanks to 256-QAM modulation, well above the usual 150 Mbps ceiling. Certified transmission power stays under 20 dBm EIRP on both bands, and the adapter works in Ad-Hoc as well as Infrastructure mode.
Form Factor and Installation
The nano body is designed to stay in place permanently rather than being removed after each session, so a laptop can be closed and carried without unplugging anything. Because it uses USB 2.0 rather than USB 3.0, it can occupy any spare port on an older machine without competing for a high-speed socket. The retail package includes the adapter, a resource CD carrying the driver, and a quick installation guide.
Security and Compatibility
Wireless security covers 64 and 128 bit WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK, along with 802.1x for networks that authenticate against a server. TP-Link publishes driver support across Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and XP in both 32 bit and 64 bit editions, which makes this adapter a practical choice for keeping an older office machine on the network. No macOS driver is listed on the official English specification page for this model
