Automatic Loop Prevention, VLAN, and IGMP Snooping
Fanless design for silent operation
Durable metal casing and desktop/wall mounting design
Extended PoE Power Delivery and Remote Device Management
All eight ports are 802.3af and 802.3at PoE+ compliant, delivering up to 30W per port with a total power budget of 64W, enabling simultaneous powering of IP surveillance cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and other PoE-enabled endpoints. Extended PoE transmission up to 250 metres allows flexible camera placement across larger sites without requiring additional power infrastructure, whilst Remote Camera Reboot enables centralised management of powered surveillance endpoints through the Omada controller for rapid recovery without on-site intervention. When Extend Mode is activated, PoE transmission distance extends to 250 metres with port speed reducing to 10 Mbps, providing flexibility for legacy or bandwidth-limited surveillance deployments.
Layer 2 Switching and Surveillance Network Optimization
The ES208GP delivers 16 Gbps switching capacity and 11.904 Mpps forwarding rate across all eight ports with an 8K MAC address table and 4 Mbit packet buffer, providing stable high-throughput connectivity for video surveillance traffic. 802.1p and DSCP QoS prioritisation with eight priority queues and Weighted Round Robin scheduling ensure video traffic receives priority over best-effort network flows, whilst VLAN segmentation with up to 32 groups and 4K VLAN IDs separates surveillance and administrative traffic for security and network management. Port isolation prevents inter-camera communication without passing through a management gateway, IGMP snooping optimises multicast traffic from cameras to recording systems, and static link aggregation across up to two groups and four ports per group enables redundant backhaul connections to upstream network infrastructure.
Omada Cloud Essentials Free Cloud Management
The ES208GP integrates with Omada Cloud Essentials, which provides lifetime free cloud-based centralised management and monitoring for the entire Omada networking system covering access points, switches, and gateways without additional licensing fees. Zero-touch provisioning via the Omada cloud-based controller enables remote deployment without on-site configuration, whilst automatic device discovery and one-click adoption simplify installation across multi-site surveillance deployments. Management through the Omada app or web browser provides anytime, anywhere access to network status, remote camera reboot, topology visualisation, site maps, and comprehensive troubleshooting tools for efficient network maintenance and event response in surveillance operations.
Compact Design and Multiple Deployment Scenarios
The compact 158 by 100.7 by 25.4 mm metal chassis with fanless design ensures silent operation suitable for offices, retail environments, and surveillance installations where noise and space efficiency are important. Desktop and wall-mount installation options provide flexible placement alongside surveillance infrastructure, whilst ±6 kV surge protection on service ports protects against electrical disturbances common in extended outdoor PoE cable runs. The ES208GP supports surveillance networks with IP cameras, Wi-Fi coverage with access points, and wired connections for non-PoE devices such as P
